MANILA, Philippines – A total of four American nationals convicted of sex crimes were barred from entering the Philippines and deported from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the Bureau of Immigration reported on Friday.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado confirmed that the individuals have been blacklisted and are thus prohibited from returning to the country.
Under Philippine immigration law, foreigners convicted of crimes involving moral turpitude, including sex offenses, can be denied entry. Viado explained that the individuals were flagged by immigration officers after being listed in the BI’s alert system for sex crimes, primarily involving minors, committed in their home countries.
The first individual, 43-year-old former serviceman Justin Henry Glasgow, was stopped at Terminal 3 in Pasay City on October 8, upon arriving from Guam. Glasgow had been convicted of child pornography in 2005 and sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
The next day, 60-year-old Daniel Clare Rademacher was intercepted at Terminal 1 in Parañaque after arriving from Incheon, South Korea. He had been convicted in 2004 on two counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a 15-year-old girl.
On October 12, 29-year-old Khallif Francis Ammen was turned away at Terminal 1 after arriving from Los Angeles, California. Ammen had been convicted in 2016 for child pornography and the possession of lewd material involving his 11-year-old victim.
Finally, 68-year-old Brian William Sanchez was intercepted at the same terminal on November 2 after arriving from Los Angeles. He was convicted of child pornography in 2003.
Ferdinand Tendenilla, acting chief of the BI’s Border Control and Intelligence Unit, stated that all four individuals were immediately placed on the next available flights back to their countries of origin.
