
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 238,982 families have been affected by three consecutive typhoons—Nika (Toraji), Ofel (Usagi), and Super Typhoon Pepito (Man-yi), according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Sunday.
In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said that this figure represents 852,475 individuals across 2,152 villages in the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
As of the latest update, 24,421 families (75,581 individuals) are seeking refuge in 566 evacuation centers, while another 11,541 families (36,077 individuals) are receiving aid outside the centers.
While no deaths or missing persons have been reported, two individuals in Central Luzon have been confirmed injured.
Preemptive evacuations affected 150,821 families, or 514,576 people, across the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol.
The NDRRMC also reported damage to 7,838 houses in Regions 1, 2, 3, and CAR, with 7,401 homes categorized as “partially damaged” and 437 as “totally damaged.”
Infrastructure damage has been estimated at PHP 469.85 million in Regions 2, 3, and CAR.
