MANILA, Philippines – “Hello, Love, Again” is indeed flying big globally as it makes history yet again as the biggest grossing opening weekend for a Filipino film in the United States as reported by international entertainment website Deadline.
The reunion movie of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards has so far made $2.4 million after its release in over 248 sites via Abramorama (with Amorette Jones Media Consulting aka AJMC), busting into the Top 10 for the week.
“That’s an awesome opening record for a Filipino movie beating the entire gross of the Dante Bosco romcom, The Debut ($1.7M) from 2000. It’s also the widest ever for a Filipino feature. Hello, Love, Again, also had the highest theater average of the weekend at $9,7K,” the Deadline said.

“AJMC executed a highly targeted social media strategy to promote the movie aimed at Filipino-American audiences, as well as Asian-American, Hispanic, and general moviegoers,” the report said.
It also added that the success of the movie largely grassrooted its marketing push on the huge global fanbase of Bernardo and Richards, along with strategic partnerships with platforms like ABS-CBN’s TFC and Cinema One.
“This is the first time that a theatrical distribution plan has been assembled for a movie aimed at Filipino American audiences,” the report said.
In the country, the KathDen starrer grossed a record-breaking P245 million on its first three days of release.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the sequel to the mega hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye” will be released in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
Bernardo and Richards have both thanked their fans for their support in their reunion project.
