MANILA Philippines — Content creator Davao Conyo has rejected requests to create content around the Maris Racal controversy, stating that it is inappropriate to mock the struggles of others.

In a now-expired Instagram story, Davao Conyo responded to a question asking him to make a skit about the issue involving Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, and Jam Villanueva.

“Make entry for Maris Issue please. Hahahah. Looking forward,” the social media user said.

The content creator penned a message dismissing the idea of creating a content riding on the issue.

“Ante hindi maganda yang pinagtatawanan ang may pinagdadaanan. Sana di mo ma experience. Making fun of others for the sake of quick views is one of the lowest form of content. It’s lazy and malicious,” Davao Conyo said.

According to the creator, while it’s common for creators to lighten things “through humor” or hold people, especially those in power, accountable for their actions, it becomes “off-putting” when controversies are “targeted” at someone who has made a mistake.

“Shaming a mistake is different from shaming an evil person,” he said.

He warned that those who exploit others’ shame will do the same if given the chance, advising caution around such people.

“These type of people who take advantage of other people’s shame will do the same to you if you were in the same situation, so be very careful around them,” he said.

Social media users praised the creator for calling out the sender, saying that in situations like these, it becomes clear who possesses genuine intelligence, high emotional intelligence, and class, as opposed to those merely pretending to be smart while seeking attention.

Racal made headlines after being implicated in the breakup between Jennings and Villanueva, with Villanueva later exposing her private conversations with Villanueva’s ex-boyfriend.
