Vic Sotto and Darryl Yap

MANILA, Philippines – Comedian Vic Sotto finally broke his silence following the direct mention of his name in the trailer of the film “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma” and is bent on filing charges against controversial director Darryl Yap.

The “Eat Bulaga” main host is set to file a formal complaint against Yap at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court on Thursday, January 9 according to his legal counsel.

The teaser of the movie released last January 1 exploded on the internet over the direct mention of Sotto’s name affirmed by Paloma (Rhed Bustamante) during her heated confrontation with Charito Solis (Gina Alajar) as the one who raped her.

The exchange of lines in the teaser was:

Gina: “Ipaliwanag mo sa akin! Magsabi ka sa akin! Ipaliwanag mo, dahil hindi ko naiintindihan. “Pepsi sumagot ka! Ni-rape ka ba ni Vic Sotto?”

Rhed: “Oo!”

Paloma, an ‘80s starlet, made a name for being a bold star during the height of bomba films during the decade. She was part of the group Softdrink beauties.

In the early ‘80s, Paloma accused Sotto, Joey de Leon and Richie D’Horsie of drugging and raping her and another sexy star at a hotel in Quezon City.

Former Senator Tito Sotto had repeatedly denied the story. Fellow Softdrink beauty Coca Nicolas who said she and Paloma are almost like sisters said Paloma herself denied the issue to her.
