MANILA, Philippines – “I have a clean conscience.”
With all smiles and a bright aura, comedian Vic Sotto spoke these words showing his calm and confident self despite ongoing legal battle.
Unlike celebrities who lose projects when embroiled in viral controversies, Sotto seems to be blessed even more after being launched as the newest endorser of a barley brand after being linked yet again with the issue of actress Pepsi Paloma.
“Malinis ang pakiramdam ko wala naman dapat ika worry. Mai-stress ka lang kapag iniisip mo eh so relax lang,” he said during an interview for his latest endorsement.
“Ako talaga si relax lang hindi ko masyadong pinoproblema ang mga problema dahil hindi tayo bibigyan ng problema ng Panginoon na hindi kayang ayusin,” he said.
Sotto filed 19 counts of cyber libel charges against controversial filmmaker Darryl Yap after being mentioned in the Paloma movie teaser as the attacker of the late actress.
After a trade of points, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court issued a gag order to both Yap and Sotto restricting from making public comments about the case.
Sotto, along with fellow “Eat Bulaga” original hosts Joey de Leon and the late Richie D’Horsie were linked to the urban legend of the supposed rape of the sexy actress that happened in the early ‘80s.
According to age-old stories, Senate re-electionist Tito Sotto had a reported participation on the issue by fixing Paloma to let his brother, de Leon and D’Horsie off the hook.
The former senator had repeatedly denied the issue in the past.
“The Kingdom” lead actor has also expressed his gratitude for the all out support of his family and friends especially his elder brother and de Leon collectively known in showbiz as TVJ.
“Of course they’re all out support kahit anong mangyari sama sama kami,” Sotto said of TVJ.
The summary hearing for the case is rescheduled on January 17.
