Ex Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista
MANILA, Philippines – The Sandiganbayan 7th Division has convicted former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and his ex City Administrator Aldrin Cuña of graft in connection to the 2019 procurement of an Online Occupational Permitting Tracking System (OOPTS).
In a 32-page decision, the anti-graft court has sentenced the former Quezon City officials 6-10 years of jail time and are both perpetually disqualified from holding public office.
Both Bautista and Cuña have yet to issue statements on their conviction.
The Sandiganbayan did not order the two to pay fines since the public funds amounting to P32 million was already received by the private firm who was not a party to the case.
According to a DZBB report, Bautista and Cuna will both file a motion for consideration.
Bautista and Cuna face other pending cases in the 5th Division over the release of P25.3 million of public funds to install a solar power system and waterproofing works.
This is a developing story.
