MANILA, Philippines — Blacklist International has announced its departure from the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) ahead of Season 15, confirming the transfer of its franchise ownership to a new organization.

In a statement on Tuesday, Blacklist International attributed the decision to a business opportunity aligned with the evolving direction of Tier One Entertainment, the organization’s parent company.

“This difficult decision was made in response to the business opportunity that was presented to us which aligns with the new direction of Tier One Entertainment to go beyond esports,” the statement read.

End of an era

Since joining the MPL PH in 2020, Blacklist International has played a prominent role in the league. Known for its “UBE strategy” (Ultimate Bonding Experience) and multiple championship wins, the team has built a reputation for its strategic gameplay and strong fanbase.

The organization also achieved milestones such as high viewership numbers and global recognition. In 2021, Blacklist International was ranked as the third most-watched esports team in the world.

Though the team is stepping back from MPL PH, the organization emphasized its commitment to supporting its rosters in other esports titles.

“While Blacklist International is open to reentering the league in the future, we want to use this time to reassess our position in the space. For now, the Blacklist International organization will be focusing our efforts into developing our rosters for our existing titles,” it said.

The statement concluded with gratitude to fans and players: “To every single agent who has cheered for us, shown up to our games and watch parties, bought our merch—for all your undying support—we thank you. To the MLBB players who have poured their heart and soul into the game and competed under the Blacklist International banner, we salute you.”
