Donald Trump was officially sworn back to power for a historic second term as the 47th President of America on Monday (US time) flexing muscular executive powers to push his first few orders such as recognizing only two genders, deporting illegal aliens in the US, defeating inflation and completing a voyage to Mars.

As one of his priorities, Trump signed an executive order recognizing only two sexes in the US, just male and female and declaring they cannot be changed. 

His order sets out, among others, to remove gender ideology policies, cease the idea that men can be women and women can be men and reflect only biological reality and not self-assessed gender identity on primary documents. 

“As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” Trump said during his inaugural address earlier on Monday.

Since the beginning of the presidential campaign in 2024, Trump has vowed to begin his second term to push efforts in curbing legal migration in the US and crackdown illegal immigrants. 

This order tasks the military with border enforcement, designates cartels and gangs as terrorist groups, shuts down asylum and refugee admissions and attempts to terminate birthright citizenship to children born to parents who do not have legal status in the US – a move some legal scholars argue is unconstitutional. 

“All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.” 

“We will reinstate my ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy. I will end the practice of catch and release, and I will send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of our country.”

“Under the orders I signed today, we will also be designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.” 

“And by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 I will direct our government to use the full and immense power of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal networks bringing devastating crime to U.S. soil, including our cities and inner cities,” he said. 

Trump has also signed a memorandum trying to tackle inflation and lower energy costs. 

“I will direct all members of my cabinet to marshal the vast powers at their disposal to defeat what was record inflation, and rapidly bring down costs and prices. The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill,” he said. 

Among his proposals include enacting 60% tariffs on goods from China and tariffs of at least 10% on all imports into the U.S.  

The tough-talking reinstated President also vowed to complete a voyage mission to Mars and plant the US flag on the planet. 

“We will lead the world in space and reach Mars before the end of my term,” he said. 

Trump’s inauguration is a historic feat that completed the reinstatement of a political shaker who got through two impeachment trials, a conviction, two assassination attempts and a prosecution for attempting to overturn his 2020 election loss.

He succeeded now former US President Joe Biden and defeated now ex-Vice President Kamala Harris in November. 

President Marcos Jr, has already extended his congratulations to Trump for a “peaceful transfer of power.” 

“I look forward to working closely with you and your Administration,” Marcos said.
