MANILA, Philippines – Shortly after F4 members Jerry Yan and Ken Chu posted messages of condolences, Taiwanese singer-actress Raine Yang also took to social media to pay tribute to on-screen best friend and real life close friend Barbie Hsu. 

On Instagram stories, Raine posted a black photo she coupled with a short message. 

Raine wrote in Chinese, “Xiyuan, thank you. I will miss you forever and love you.” 

Xiyuan is Barbie’s birth name.

Raine played Xiao You, one of the best friends of Shan Cai, played by Barbie. The former also played the love interest of Xi Men, the womanizer member of F4 played by Ken. 

Barbie died on Monday, February 3 due to pneumonia after contracting influenza during the Lunar New Year holiday.

“Our whole family came to Japan for a trip, and my dearest and most kindhearted sister Barbie Hsu died of influenza-induced pneumonia and unfortunately left us,” Barbie’s sister DeeHsu said through her agent.
