MILITANT socialist workers and urban poor will march to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on February 24 at 10am to condemn senate candidates they claim have ties to political dynasties, corruption, crime, and power abuse.
Socialista or Kilusan ng Manggagawang Socialista Inc. (KMSI) is organizing the protest, which will end with a “Declaration Rally” called “Wag Iboto sa Senado.”
Protesters aim to destroy, deface, and mark with a “X” the campaign tarpaulins of particular candidates in order to visually express their disapproval of them.
The targeted candidates are charged with a number of crimes, such as extrajudicial executions, rape, shielding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), land grabbing, and involvement in the PDAF and Pharmally scams.
The rally will take place at the Comelec office located at Palacio del Gobernador, General Luna St., Intramuros, Manila.
