About 100 Socialista militants called on voters to abstain from voting for the 11 senate candidates connected to political dynasties who were involved on extrajudicial killings, corruption, and plunder.
Protesters carried tarpaulins featuring senatorial candidates’ faces before painting an X on them when launched mass demonstration at the Commission on Election office in Intramuros Manila.
The Socialista identified the political dynasties Imee Marcos, Camille Villar, Abby Binay, Pia Cayetano, the Erwin brothers and Ben Tulfo.
Senators Bong Revilla, who is suspected of plunder; Bato Dela Rosa, who is accused of carrying out EJK’s orders; Bong Go, who is a Pharmally scammer; Lito Lapid, who is the POGO protector; and Apollo Quiboloy, who is accused of rape and child abuse, are also among those who have been urged not to vote them in the next May midterm election.
According to Eding Villasin, spokesperson of Socialista, these political dynasties have violated the true spirit of those who drafted the Constitution in 1987, which prohibits political dynasties.
There is currently no well-defined anti-political dynasty law. According to Villasin, several controlling clans and their cohorts are against it, which prevents it from being immediately enacted into law.
The militant group marched out of the Comelec after holding a program for a bit while a squad of anti-riot police arrived
