MANILA, Philippines – Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy has resigned from his post and his decision was accepted by President Marcos Jr., Malacanang announced Thursday. 

“DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy’s resignation was accepted by the President today,” Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said. 

“An OIC will fill the position until the President appoints a secretary,” Castro said. 

Uy is the third to resign from the Marcos cabinet this year. He was appointed by Marcos in June 2022.  

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista resigned in February due to health reasons and was replaced by Vince Dizon while just last week, PCO Secretary Cesar Chavez quit his post admitting to have “fallen short” of what was expected of him. He was replaced by former ABS-CBN reporter and now ad interim secretary Jay Ruiz.
