MANILA, Philippines – Kitty Duterte, daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, claimed they were illegally detained at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City and that her father was being denied medical attention he badly needed.
“We are being illegally detained at 250th PRESIDENTIAL AIRLIFT WING COL JESUS VILLAMOR AIR BASE PASAY CITY. They aren’t allowing my dad to seek the medical attention he badly needs,” Kitty said in her Instagram story.

Kitty had been consistently updating the public about the situation of her father through her social media posts. She posted a doctor’s order dated Tuesday, March 11 concerning the former president’s condition.
Duterte, who is currently under police custody upon the effect of the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court over deaths linked to his war on drugs, questioned the validity of his arrest.
His camp claimed he was not informed of the charges against him and he demanded authorities explain the nature of his arrest and demanded an answer for the deprivation of his liberty.
“Show to me now the legal basis for my being here. Apparently I was brought here not of my own volition. It is somebody else’s. Kung hindi ibang tao, ikaw siguro because this is your structure. So you have to answer now for the deprivation of liberty,” Duterte said.
Sen. Bong Go, a long-time Duterte ally, was denied access to the former president at the Villamor Airbase.
In his live video posts, he was seen delivering a box of pizza and drinks for Duterte and his daughter and reminded the soldiers barring him from entering the perimeter that the past administration loved the armed forces.
