MANILA, Philippines – Authorities seized over P1.18 billion worth of smuggled disposable vapes, vape pods, and other contraband items in a warehouse in Brgy. Canumay West, Valenzuela City, the Bureau of Customs said.

The inspection uncovered 182,250 units of disposable vapes and 80,800 vape pods, valued at approximately P320 million, including excise taxes.

Various other smuggled goods, including used clothing (ukay-ukay), electronic accessories, Chinese food stuff, disposable syringes, and office furniture, were also found, raising the total estimated value of the seized items to over P1.18 billion.

Authorities have temporarily sealed the warehouse pending a full inventory and further legal proceedings.

The BOC stated that smuggled vapes and used clothing—regulated and prohibited goods, respectively—will be inventoried and recommended for a Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD).

Meanwhile, owners of freely importable goods must present proof of duty and tax payments within 15 days, or the items will be forfeited in favor of the government.
