MANILA, Philippines — Motorists traveling northbound on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) from Balintawak to Meycauayan will be exempt from toll fees starting March 24, 2025, at 12 noon, as part of measures to ease traffic congestion during Marilao Bridge repairs.

The toll relief will remain in effect until all four lanes of the Marilao northbound section are fully reopened.

NLEX Corporation said the move was made in response to the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) call for assistance in managing traffic disruptions.

“In response to the call of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), NLEX Corporation will implement temporary toll relief on the northbound portion of the expressway from Balintawak to Meycauayan,” the company said in a statement released Sunday night.

The Marilao Bridge sustained severe damage after a truck exceeding weight regulations passed through, prompting urgent repairs. As a result, authorities have enforced traffic flow adjustments to ensure motorist safety.

“We ask for the motoring public’s patience and understanding as we fast-track repairs and work to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible,” NLEX Corporation said.

Motorists are advised to check official NLEX channels for further updates on the ongoing repairs and traffic conditions.
