MANILA, Philippines – At least 15 elementary schools in Davao City suspended face-to-face classes on Friday, March 28, to give way to a prayer rally in celebration of the 80th birthday of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The participating schools will shift to a blended learning modality.
Among the schools were:
- Bolton Elementary School;
- Cesario Villa-Abrille Elementary School;
- CP Garcia Senior High School;
- Davao City National High School;
- Doña Pilar Elementary School;
- Erico Nograles National High School;
- Jose Rizal Elementary School;
- Kapt. Tomas Monteverde Central Elementary School;
- Magallanes Elementary School;
- Manuel Roxas Elementary School;
- Manuel L. Quezon Elementary;
- School, Palma Gil Elementary School;
- Sta. Ana National High School;
- Sta. Ana Central Elementary School;
- Wireless Elementary School
GMA Super Radyo Davao, the local government of Davao City will implement road closures on C.M. Recto Avenue (from San Pedro St. to Magsaysay Avenue) and Roxas Avenue (from Quezon Boulevard to C. Bangoy St).
The Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) expects a crowd of about 100,000 but to ensure public safety, approximately 1,800 police personnel will be deployed.
