MANILA, Philippines – Authorities intercepted 12 Chinese nationals for illegal possession of firearms and resisting arrest in Muntinlupa City. 

Based on the report of National Bureau of Investigation – National Capital Region (NBI-NCR), the operation stemmed from the request of local officials of a gated village suspecting Chinese nationals using three houses for illegal activities. 

Before serving search warrants, the NBI-NCR conducted a verification through surveillance and casing operations approved by RTC Judge Judge Liezel Aquitan. 

Authorities were able to confiscate multiple firearms such as pistols along with magazines, ammunition, taser guns, bulletproof vests, tactical knives, handcuffs, and various identification cards.

Two vehicles loaded with firearms were also confiscated. 

The suspects are set to face violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act as well as for Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority.
