MANILA, Philippines – Shortly after attending his daughter Claudia Barretto’s wedding, comedian Dennis Padilla cried foul over supposedly being treated only as a “visitor” instead of being recognized as the father of the bride. 

Claudia, 25, tied the knot to long-time boyfriend Basti Lorenzo in a private wedding last Tuesday, April 8. Lorenzo is the business tycoon Martin Ignacio Lorenzo and the brother of actress Erich Gonzales’ husband, Mateo Lorenzo.

On the same day of the wedding, Padilla posted a yellow paper with a written statement that said: “Grabe kayo! Nabudol niyo [ako]! Father of the bride naging visitor! Galing niyo!”

He added the remark, “Sagad sa buto” on his post and completed it with the caption, “Finish” with a broken-heart emoji. The post is now deleted.

Padilla did not disclose in his post exactly who he was referring to but the actor made it clear through a reply to a netizen that he was referring to his daughter’s wedding.

He also disclosed that he was not part of the program.

Padilla’s emotions were too high, he let out his frustrations in one of his daughter Julia’s latest Instagram posts. 

He said, “kapal nyo” and later deleted it. 

Padilla’s tainted relationship with his kids with former wife Marjorie has been a public matter. The comedian has had repeated attempts at reconnecting with his kids, publicly greeting them on their birthdays and expressing his love for them. 

His children have not made statements about the issue yet.
