MANILA, Philippines – Is a Duterte endorsement in the brew for Imee Marcos?

This was the question of netizens when photos of Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee together with controversial filmmaker Darryl Yap went viral online sparking rumors that the warring families yet again sealed a partnership in the coming May polls.

On Facebook, Yap uploaded photos of what seemed to be a studio shoot showing him standing side-by-side with Sara and Imee. They were all wearing black.

Meanwhile, a behind-the-scenes snap showed only Sara and Imee being photographed.

Yap accompanied the post with an intriguing caption, “We know” with the hashtag “#itim.”

Supporters of the Duterte family agree of the partnership in the hopes of it helping bring back former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is now detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) headquarters in The Hague Netherlands for crimes against humanity, home.

An official of the Office of the Vice President said Sara is set to answer questions about the photos after Holy Week.

The Dutertes and the Marcoses have been on tight ends not long after their successful partnership in the 2022 presidential elections.

The younger Duterte is set to face an impeachment trial for her alleged misuse of the confidential funds of the Department of Education during her stint as secretary and the Office of the Vice President.

The Marcos government surrendered the former president to the ICC supposedly as an assistance to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) who served the warrant ordered by the foreign tribunal.

Imee, the president’s eldest sister, publicly denounced the move of the government and launched a Senate probe investigating the supposed illegalities of the arrest.

After the first hearing on March 20, the older Marcos was no longer mentioned in the administration-backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas sorties. Shortly after, Imee announced her withdrawal from the ticket but no announcement has been made by the Duterte-led PDP-Laban party or Sara herself of such adoption plans for the senator.
