MANILA, Philippines – Actress Lotlot de Leon moved audiences at the final night of her mother, Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor’s wake when she shared the last message she received from her.

Sobbing, De Leon recalled what happened when she found out that her mother was dealing with an illness she wouldn’t tell her children.

According to the equally award-winning actress, her mother has always been secretive about her health because she did not want her children to worry. De Leon said she had to confront her mother’s physician to tell them about their mother’s condition because as children, they had the right to know.

When Aunor found out about her inquiry, she sent her a moving text message that while assuring, felt like a goodbye.

The Superstar’s last message to her was:

De Leon revealed that her mother has been suffering from a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease for a long time.

The legendary actress was given a state funeral at the Metropolitan Theater and was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
