Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo
Former Vice President Leni Robredo makes history as the first female mayor of Naga City.
Robredo has been proclaimed by the City Board of Canvassers as the winner with over 84,000 votes comprising about 91% of votes cast.
After coming from a reeling loss in the 2022 presidential election, Robredo secured a landslide win against her opponents Toots De Quiros Louie Ortega and Ganda Abrazado.
In an interview, the former vice president said improving the city’s infrastructure is among her priorities after reeling from the devastation of Typhoon Cristine in 2024.
Advocating good governance and transparency, Robredo said they will initiate projects that could be replicable throughout the country.
Robredo heads the Angat Buhay Foundation which has chapters all over the country and also in the US.
Her late husband, former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo was a long-time mayor of the city.
