MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Imee Marcos expressed gratitude after her crucial clinch on the 12th and final Senate spot in the 2025 midterm elections. 

“Ang tagumpay na ito kahit gaano kailap at kahirap ay isang katibayan na kapag nanindigan para sa tama – MANANALO KA,” she said in a statement issued on Tuesday (May 13). 

“Hindi nagmaliw ang paniwala ko sa dunong ng sambayanang Pilipino, na dama at alam nila ang ibig sabihin ng sakripisyo at prinsipyo at gagawaran nila ito ng suporta at pagmamahal,” she said. 

Marcos withdrew from the administration slate Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas after launching a Senate probe into the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte. She was eventually endorsed by Vice President Sara Duterte and was officially adopted by the Duterte camp two days before the May 12 polls. 

As of official Commission on Elections count as of 11:51 am Wednesday (May 14), she closed the cut with 13,037,861 votes. 

“Ikinararangal kong maging ikalabing-dalawa sa listahan, ang tumapos sa lahat ng ito,” she said. 

She recommended filing of administrative and criminal cases against government officials involved in what they described as the “kidnapping” of the former president.
