MANILA, Philippines — Authorities seized an estimated P9.1 million worth of alleged unregistered vape products and arrested one person during a law enforcement operation in Marilao, Bulacan, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said.
In a statement Thursday, the CIDG identified the suspect only as “Ping,” a Chinese national, who was allegedly caught selling vape products without the necessary permits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
The operation, conducted by the CIDG Pampanga and Bulacan Provincial Field Units in Barangay Prenza 1, resulted in the confiscation of 26,000 pieces of assorted “Eutral” brand vape items.
Charges have been filed against the suspect for violating Section 19 of Republic Act No. 11900, or the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act, which requires registration of such products with regulatory agencies.
