MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) reported late Tuesday night it arrested a man in Dau, Mabalacat City, for allegedly extorting sexual favors and threatening to disseminate explicit images of a former girlfriend.

The operation was led by the NBI-Cabanatuan District Office (NBI-CABDO) under the supervision of NBI Director Judge Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.).

The arrest followed a complaint filed with the NBI-CABDO by the victim. According to the complainant, she met the suspect through the mobile gaming application “Mobile Legends,” and they subsequently began a romantic relationship.

The complainant ended the relationship after discovering the suspect was also involved with another woman he met on the same platform.

After their breakup, the suspect allegedly began sending images of their past sexual encounters to the complainant’s new boyfriend. He also sent the complainant photographs and videos of their sexual acts, demanding that she meet him for sexual intercourse.

The suspect threatened to post the explicit materials online if she refused his demands. He instructed the complainant to meet him at the Dau bus terminal.

On June 2, 2025, NBI-CABDO agents, in coordination with NBI-Central Luzon Regional Office (NBI-CELRO) agents, proceeded to the designated meeting place.

The joint team observed the suspect and complainant meet and discreetly followed them to a nearby motel. As they were entering the establishment, the apprehending team approached the suspect and placed him under arrest.

The suspect has been presented for inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Mabalacat City, Pampanga. Director Santiago commended the NBI-CABDO and NBI-CELRO agents for the successful operation.

The suspect faces charges including Grave Coercion in relation to Republic Act No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), violation of Republic Act No. 9262 (VAWC Law), and Republic Act No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act).
