MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday called on government employees to embody heroism in their daily work by delivering prompt and quality public service.
Speaking during the 127th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence and the “Parada ng Kalayaan 2025” at the Quirino Grandstand, Marcos urged civil servants to uphold accountability and make the most of the trust given to them by the public.
Pananagutan. ‘Yan ang sigaw ng sambayanan,” the President said.
He warned that public officials who abuse their authority, misuse their positions, or fail in their duties would face consequences.
Marcos stressed the need for the government to respond swiftly to the daily needs of Filipinos, citing issues such as damaged infrastructure, high food prices, and power shortages.
He said people expect real action from government agencies, especially those providing frontline services.
“Bilisan ang pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan, taasan ang kalidad ng serbisyo, at iwasto ang ating pagkukulang,” the President said.
Marcos also emphasized that Filipinos will fully experience freedom if they have access to food, healthcare, transport, and dignified livelihoods.
