MANILA, Philippines — A total of 100 Chinese nationals allegedly involved in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs) were deported on Tuesday, June 17, as part of the government’s crackdown on foreign nationals linked to organized crime.

The deportation was carried out by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Chinese Embassy. The individuals boarded Philippine Airlines Flight PR336, which departed from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 10:40 AM en route to Shanghai, China.

According to authorities, the deportees were arrested during joint law enforcement operations earlier this year at sites identified as scam hubs tied to illegal online gaming and fraudulent activities. The operations were conducted in:

  • Silang, Cavite on January 16
  • Parañaque City on February 20
  • Pasay City on February 27

“Every step we take against these criminal groups is a step toward a safer Philippines,” said PAOCC Undersecretary Gilberto DC Cruz. “Today’s deportation is part of our continuing effort to protect our people, uphold the law, and ensure that only those who respect our laws are welcome in our country.”
