MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv, has provided immediate assistance to 14 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by an Iranian missile strike in Rehovot, Israel.

The strike hit a residential building in Rehovot, located about 20 kilometers south of Tel Aviv. Four OFWs were hospitalized, while others sustained minor injuries.

The DMW said it has provided medical assistance, food, shelter, and financial aid to the affected workers. Eight OFWs were moved to a temporary shelter, five remained with their employers, and one chose to stay with a friend.

The assistance was carried out under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure the safety and welfare of OFWs amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) are monitoring the condition of the injured workers and remain on standby for possible evacuation and repatriation efforts. The agency is also coordinating with other Philippine posts in the region, including Lebanon.
