MANILA, Philippines — Actor-director Fifth Solomon revealed he suffered a mental breakdown caused by online bullying but assured followers he is now recovering.

In a Facebook post on Monday, June 16, Solomon shared that he was in the emergency room accompanied by his sister, comedian Chariz Solomon. “I’m okay now. I’m in the ER with my sister Balitang Inaaaaa!” he wrote, adding, “I had a mental breakdown because [of] the online bullying. Thanks for all the people who reached out.”

The former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate said he will release a statement soon but did not provide further details.

In a previous post, Solomon addressed the negative comments hurled at him online. He listed the common insults he has received: “Retokada. Flop. Baliw. Mental hospital. DDS. Incerun. Too fem—Call me names. Laugh all you want. I’ve heard worse. Survived worse.”

“I grew up with no blueprint, no guidance, no safety net. So I taught myself how to fight, how to bite back. The world isn’t kind. I stopped trying to be,” he wrote.

He also reflected on how some people enjoy watching others fall despite appearing virtuous. “But me? You can’t bring me down. Only the people I love have that power. And even then, I’ll still get up,” he said.

An online petition to remove Solomon as Drag Race Philippines’ creative director also went viral saying “if you believe that Drag Race Philippines should reflect the core values of love, unity, and inclusivity by replacing its current Creative Director, Fifth Solomon, with someone who truly champions these ideals.”

The petition has already garnered over 7,000 signatures. Drag Race Philippines has yet to issue a statement regarding the controversy involving its creative director.

“I know who I am. I know what I’m worth. No one gets to rewrite that,” he added.
