MANILA, Philippines — The Financial Sector Forum (FSF) has relaunched its “Protect Your Money” (PYM) campaign to help Filipinos spot financial scams and make smarter money decisions amid rising digital fraud threats.
Unveiled on June 17 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) head office in Manila, the 2025 campaign bears the tagline “I am a smart financial consumer” and will feature financial education content across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, SMS, radio, print materials in high-traffic areas, and even ATM machines.
FSF member agencies—the BSP, Insurance Commission (IC), Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)—will spearhead the rollout of the updated campaign.
“This campaign is in response to the rapidly evolving digital financial landscape,” said BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, chairperson of FSF’s Consumer Protection and Education Committee. “By strengthening awareness of our rights and responsibilities as financial consumers, we empower individuals to guard themselves against scammers and fraudsters.”
The 2025 version of PYM builds on previous campaigns by incorporating practical tips for safe transactions, warning signs of fraud, and redress mechanisms for victims. The initiative also aims to reach underserved groups, including retirees and overseas Filipinos.
“This is about enabling every Filipino to confidently say, ‘I am a smart financial consumer,’” said BSP Monetary Board Member Jose L. Querubin, who represented BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. at the launch.
Other key officials also expressed support, including PDIC President Roberto Tan who said, “The first line of defense will always be a well-informed depositor or financial consumer.”
The campaign’s ceremonial launch featured a symbolic “turning of the key” by FSF officials, representing their united stance against financial crime.
