Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) arrested a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver in Cainta, Rizal for robbery with rape following a complaint filed by a female passenger.

The suspect, identified as Michael Lou Reuyan y Domoloan, was apprehended during a hot pursuit operation on June 16, 2025. The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred a day earlier, on June 15, when the victim booked a ride through a ride-hailing app in the southern part of Metro Manila.

According to the complaint, the victim fell asleep during the trip and later woke up to find Reuyan allegedly sexually assaulting her inside the parked vehicle. Despite her pleas and attempts to resist, Reuyan reportedly continued the act and punched her in the abdomen. The victim managed to escape when the suspect stepped out of the vehicle, but not before he allegedly took her bag, which contained an iPhone 16 and other valuables, and forcibly removed her necklace worth ₱35,000.

The victim, accompanied by her parents, filed a formal complaint later that day. NBI agents quickly launched an operation and, with the help of the vehicle’s registered operator, proceeded to the suspect’s residence in Cainta. After hours of surveillance, agents spotted Reuyan riding an electric bike and arrested him on the spot.

Reuyan has undergone inquest proceedings for charges of robbery with rape under the Revised Penal Code.

NBI Director Judge Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.) commended the swift response of NBI-NCR agents that led to the suspect’s immediate arrest.
