MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) seized over P73.8 million worth of counterfeit Crocs products during simultaneous operations in Caloocan, Valenzuela, and Pasay City on June 9.
The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by Lee Bumgarner Inc. on behalf of its client, Crocs. Acting on multiple search warrants for trademark infringement under Republic Act No. 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, NBI operatives raided seven stores in Pasay City, one warehouse in Valenzuela, and another in Caloocan.
A total of 26,057 fake Crocs-branded items were confiscated during the raid. The operation was conducted peacefully and in the presence of witnesses from the respondents, building administration, and barangay officials.
NBI-NCR Director Judge Jaime Santiago (Ret.) commended the team for the successful enforcement of the warrants and reiterated the agency’s warning against the sale and purchase of counterfeit goods.
The bureau reminded the public not to patronize fake products to protect intellectual property rights and support economic growth.
