CEBU CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a suspected drug dealer and rescued a 15-year-old girl during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tisa on June 16, 2025, as part of its intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

The NBI-Cebu District Office (CEBDO) identified the suspect as Alvin Plando y Tabanas, 37, who was arrested inside his residence in Sitio Manga, where drug repacking and distribution were allegedly taking place.

Authorities seized a significant volume of suspected illegal drugs, along with various drug paraphernalia and tools used in the repacking operation.

During the raid, a 15-year-old minor was also found and rescued from the premises. She is believed to have been used by the suspect in drug-related activities. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Cebu Regional Office (CEVRO), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Department of Justice (DOJ), media, and barangay officials, following procedures under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165).

Plando has been subjected to inquest proceedings for violating provisions of the anti-drug law.
