MANILA, Philippines —Senator Grace Poe called on concerned government agencies to expedite the release of fuel subsidies to cushion the impact of rising oil prices on vulnerable sectors.

“The fuel subsidies to our drivers must be released with dispatch,” Poe said, noting that the 2025 national budget has allocated P2.5 billion for the subsidy program.

The funding covers drivers of public utility vehicles, taxis, ride-hailing services, and delivery platforms.

Poe also emphasized that farmers and fishers grappling with higher fuel costs should receive timely support through the Department of Agriculture’s P585 million allocation.

“We trust that the amount to be released per beneficiary will be reasonable to help cushion the impact of oil prices,” she said.

The senator likewise urged agencies to streamline their paperwork processes to prevent distribution delays.

“Price hikes hit hard and fast; government intervention must be just as quick,” Poe added.
