
MANILA — Veteran entertainment writer and talent manager Lolit Solis has passed away at the age of 78.
Her death was confirmed on Friday morning, following a heart attack.
She died in the hospital.
Fondly known as “Manay Lolit”, she was a respected figure in Philippine showbiz journalism, known for her sharp commentary and decades-long career as a columnist, TV host, and talent manager.
In her final Instagram post, she expressed gratitude to her doctors for their care.
Solis was one of the hosts of the long-running GMA show “Startalk,” and also helmed segments on “Star Patrol” and other radio entertainment programs, cementing her role as one of the industry’s most recognizable voices.
She managed several celebrities and contributed significantly to shaping public discourse around local showbiz.
Further details on her wake and interment are expected to be announced by her family.
