MANILA, Philippines – Authorities intercepted a package containing high-grade marijuana, or Kush, at a warehouse in Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, the National Bureau of Investigation said.

The operation held last July 3 but was only reported to the media Tueday was conducted by the Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (CRK-IADITG), which includes the National Bureau of Investigation – Pampanga District Office (NBI-PAMDO), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Bureau of Customs (BOC), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The team inspected a FedEx package declared as “reading pillows” and discovered a transparent plastic package containing 472 grams of Kush (marijuana fruiting tops), with an estimated street value of Php708,000.

Initial information identified the sender as Alain J. Dela Rosa from Michigan, USA, and the consignee as Ricky Villamor Jr. of Cebu City.

Samples of the seized drugs were marked and weighed in the presence of the task force and turned over to PDEA for further testing. The remaining contraband is now under the custody of the Bureau of Customs.
