MANILA, Philippines — Three in every 10 adult Filipinos support the impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte, the latest national survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.

In its Second Quarter 2025 survey conducted from June 25 to 29, SWS found that 32% of Filipinos agreed with the fourth impeachment complaint against Duterte, while 42% disagreed and 18% were undecided. This yielded a net agreement score of –10.

The remaining 7% of respondents said they did not have enough knowledge about the issue to provide an opinion.

The impeachment complaint, filed in December 2024 by various groups in the House of Representatives, cited allegations including the unexplained use of confidential and intelligence funds by the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education, failure to answer related investigations, alleged ill-gotten wealth, links to extrajudicial killings in Davao City, absence during Typhoon Carina, refusal to condemn Chinese aggression in the West Philippine Sea, and threats to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.

The complaint was endorsed by 215 of 306 members of the House and transmitted to the Senate on February 5, 2025, for trial.

Survey results also showed that 59% of adult Filipinos were already aware of the impeachment complaint before the survey, while 41% learned about it only during the interview.

Support for the impeachment complaint was strongest in Metro Manila with a net agreement score of +12, followed by Balance Luzon at +7. Meanwhile, opposition was highest in Mindanao at –52, followed by the Visayas at –18.

The survey also found that 44% of respondents believe the Senate is deliberately delaying the start of the impeachment trial. In contrast, 25% do not share this belief, 22% are undecided, and 9% said they lacked sufficient knowledge. This resulted in a net belief score of +19.

The non-commissioned survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult respondents nationwide. It has a sampling error margin of ±3% for national figures and ±6% for regional estimates.
