BORACAY — New mobility player Xpress Super App has launched its pilot Moto Taxi service on the island of Boracay, following its successful rollout across Greater Metro Manila. The expansion marks a significant step toward modernizing transportation on the world-famous tourist destination.
The service was officially launched through a partnership with the Boracay local government unit (LGU) and the BILMODA Cooperative, a group of local riders. The initiative aims to provide safe, insured rides for both residents and tourists, with app-based features such as cashless payments and fair, predictable rates.
Xpress said the partnership supports not only commuter convenience but also the livelihoods of local drivers and their families. “Through this partnership, we are changing people’s lives — it’s our way of giving back to the island,” said a member of the Xpress leadership team, underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to Boracay’s economy and community.
The app-based service offers locals and tourists an alternative to the island’s historically inconsistent transport options. According to Xpress, Boracay now takes the lead in adopting cashless, community-powered mobility, making it a “modern, tourist-ready destination.”
The company hinted at further expansions to other island locations and more innovative mobility solutions in the pipeline, though no details have been disclosed.
