MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will visit the United States from July 20 to 22, Malacañang confirmed on Friday.

“Hindi ko po dini-deny, kinu-confirm po ang pagbisita po ng ating Pangulo sa US, July 20 to 22. Confirmed,” said Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro in a press briefing.

The announcement comes after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed President Marcos’ upcoming visit during the ASEAN Regional Forum and the U.S.-Philippines-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meetings held Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

While the Palace confirmed the trip, Castro said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will release further details about the visit.

The upcoming trip marks the President’s fourth visit to the U.S. since assuming office. Previous visits have yielded economic and diplomatic gains, including increased investment pledges, expanded cooperation in infrastructure and energy, and renewed ties with the global Filipino community.

In April 2024, Marcos attended the inaugural U.S.-Philippines-Japan Trilateral Summit in Washington, D.C., which led to the launch of the Luzon Economic Corridor—a flagship initiative to develop key industrial and trade hubs in Luzon.

In November 2023, the President took part in the 30th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in San Francisco, followed by working visits to Los Angeles and Honolulu.

His first official visit to the U.S. as head of state was in September 2022, when he attended the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
