MANILA — Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have located the decomposing body of missing Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) driver Reymond Enriquez Cabrera along Zaragoza-San Antonio Road in Barangay Batitang, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija on July 11, 2025.

The operation followed a key breakthrough in the investigation, after three suspects in the case voluntarily surrendered to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso a day earlier, prompting the NBI to take them into custody.

Cabrera had been missing since May 18. His wife, Ma. Meya Biñas Cabrera, sought NBI assistance the following day. Investigation revealed Cabrera accepted a ride booking from one “Emmanuel de Jesus” in Parañaque City. Three individuals—later identified as John Kevin Banting De Ocampo, Justine De Guzman Dalafu, and Jin Armin Banting De Ocampo—boarded the vehicle.

Dashcam footage captured a chilling conversation inside the vehicle where Cabrera could be seen stabbed and bleeding. The suspects discussed potential locations to dispose of his body. The vehicle was later tracked in Valenzuela City and recovered by the NBI on May 20. Blood traces were found in the back of the car, but the victim’s remains and belongings were missing at the time.

On July 10, the suspects turned themselves in to Mayor Moreno, who immediately informed NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.). NBI agents received custody of the suspects later that day.

The following morning, two of the suspects guided agents to the exact location of the body in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija. The cadaver was found hidden in a grassy roadside area. Recovered items included a blue shirt, a car rubber mat, and a single shoe.

The body was positively identified by the victim’s son based on a metal frame in Cabrera’s right arm and clothing bearing his nickname “Kuya Mon,” a name used within the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

An autopsy by the NBI Medico-Legal Division confirmed the cause of death as two stab wounds to the chest. Forensic teams also collected blood samples and fingerprints from the crime scene and the vehicle for further testing.

The NBI has recommended the filing of charges for carnapping and robbery with homicide before the Department of Justice against John Kevin De Ocampo, Justine Dalafu, Jin Armin De Ocampo, “Emmanuel de Jesus,” and a still-unidentified accomplice referred to as “John Doe” or “Black.”
