MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the proposed P6.793 trillion national budget for fiscal year 2026, Malacañang announced Tuesday.
In a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Press Officer Claire Castro said the proposed budget underscores the Marcos administration’s focus on improving education and enhancing the quality of life for all Filipinos.
During a Cabinet meeting held earlier in the day at Malacañan Palace, President Marcos emphasized that the 2026 budget must go beyond driving economic growth and directly address the needs of the Filipino people.
“Sa ilalim ng Marcos administration, mahalaga ang kapakanan ng bawat isa at ang kinabukasan ng taumbayan tungo sa mas progresibo at maunlad na Bagong Pilipinas,” Castro said.
