MANILA — Malacañang welcomed the latest rise in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s trust rating, saying it reflects growing public confidence in his leadership and the administration’s performance.

In a Palace briefing, Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Press Officer Claire Castro said the President’s 10-point surge in trust rating — from 38 percent in May to 48 percent in June — is proof that Filipinos are recognizing the government’s efforts despite ongoing political attacks.

She emphasized that the Marcos administration remains focused on delivering programs that improve the lives of Filipinos.

A June 25–29 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey of 1,200 adults nationwide showed that 48 percent expressed a great deal of trust in the President, up from 38 percent in May. Meanwhile, 30 percent reported little trust, and 21 percent were undecided.

This marks the second consecutive month of gains for the President, whose trust rating stood at 36 percent in April before rising to 38 percent in May.

Despite the positive numbers, Castro said the President will not be complacent.

Acting Communications Secretary Dave Gomez had earlier committed to strengthening government communications and pushing digital transformation to further enhance public trust and promote press freedom.
