MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the most trusted among top Philippine officials, based on the Second Quarter 2025 Social Weather Survey (SWS) conducted from June 25 to 29 and released with sponsor authorization by the Stratbase Group.

According to the commissioned survey, Duterte scored a net trust rating of +38 (61% “much trust” minus 23% “little trust”) among Filipino adults nationwide — the highest among the officials tested in the survey.

She was followed by Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who posted a net trust rating of +31 (55% much trust, 23% little trust), marking a significant improvement from his +21 rating in April.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. registered a net trust score of +18, with 48% of respondents saying they have “much trust” in him and 30% expressing “little trust.” This shows a recovery from his negative ratings in March (-3) and April (-4), but remains significantly lower than his +42 score in July 2024.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez recorded a 34 percent “much trust” rating in the same survey

Survey results showed that Marcos Jr.’s net trust rating steadily declined from July 2024 to March 2025, before beginning a slight recovery in May and June 2025. His latest score is 24 points lower than his July 2024 high.

Duterte, meanwhile, has consistently maintained high trust ratings over the past year, peaking at +45 in July 2024. Her June 2025 score is just one point lower than her May score of +37.

Escudero’s June showing also represents a notable gain of 12 points compared to the previous month, suggesting increasing public confidence in his leadership as Senate President.

The survey results were derived from face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide — 300 each from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao — and were weighted using 2025 population projections from the Philippine Statistics Authority.

The sampling margin of error is ±3% for national percentages and ±6% for each major area.
