MANILA – A total of 22 national road sections remain closed to traffic while 21 others are with limited access as of 12:00 noon due to the combined impact of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The road closures were caused by flooding, landslides, washed-out detour roads, and soil collapse. Affected regions include Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), National Capital Region (NCR), Regions I, III, IV-A, IV-B, and V.

Among the impassable roads are:

  • Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet
  • Mt. Province–Isabela Road in Paracelis, Mountain Province
  • Multiple streets in Manila including C. Arellano, P. Aquino, Gen. Luna, and Maria Clara
  • Major sections of Judge Jose De Venecia Avenue and Urdaneta-Dagupan-Lingayen Road in Pangasinan
  • Roads in Bagac, Bataan; Candaba and Camiling, Tarlac; Laurel, Batangas; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; and Libon, Albay

Meanwhile, 21 road sections remain passable only to limited traffic due to road cuts, collapsed slopes, washed-out detours, and precautionary closures. These are located across CAR, Negros Island Region, and Regions I, III, IV-A, IV-B, and IX.

These include:

  • Claveria-Calanasan-Flora-Lasam Road in Apayao
  • Multiple sections of San Carlos-Calasiao Road and Manila North Road in Pangasinan and Bulacan
  • Sto. Tomas–Minalin roads in Pampanga
  • Diokno Highway and other major roads in Batangas and Cavite
  • Roads in Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Bais City in Negros Oriental, and Zamboanga del Norte

The DPWH said all other national roads and bridges in affected areas remain passable to all types of vehicles as of the reporting time. Quick Response Teams continue clearing operations and road condition assessments.
