MANILA — Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Sunday expressed confidence that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) will reaffirm the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and responsive governance.
“As President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. prepares to deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address, I am proud of the gains he has made under his steady and compassionate leadership,” said Romualdez, who also serves as president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) and the Philippine Constitution Association.
He cited the President’s “bold economic recovery initiatives” and “decisive investments in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and digital innovation” as key indicators of strong governance aimed at uplifting lives and restoring public confidence in the country’s future.
Romualdez added that the 2025 SONA offers a critical opportunity to sustain progress while addressing urgent public needs.
“But the work is far from over. The Filipino people continue to face challenges—from rising costs of basic goods to the need for better healthcare, stable jobs, and improved access to education and social services,” he said.
“This year’s SONA is a chance to build on what we’ve achieved and set a clear, compassionate and forward-looking agenda that speaks to the real needs of our people.”
Romualdez assured that the House of Representatives remains committed to supporting the President’s legislative priorities to deliver tangible outcomes.
“We in the House of Representatives stand firmly behind the President’s vision. We are ready to translate his priorities into action by passing laws that will ease the burden on Filipino families, strengthen our economy, and ensure that no one is left behind in the journey toward a truly inclusive and secure future,” he said.
