MANILA — Actress and comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information regarding the death of her ex-husband, Trevor Magallanes, as their family continues to confirm details surrounding the incident.

“I’m deeply saddened by this development. Hope u give us time to mourn his lost especially my daughter. Just pray for us that we will get thru this by the help of God!” Quinto wrote in a statement posted on her Instagram.

She said both Trevor’s immediate family and relatives are still gathering “factual information” about his death and have yet to verify what exactly happened.

“We kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations about his death,” she added.

Quinto also shared that she and her daughter are flying to the United States and asked the public to wait for official updates directly from her and Trevor’s family.

“Pls wait for the official announcement surrounding his death from me & his family only and not fr any other source,” she said.

She ended her statement by expressing her grief and asking for prayers and respect during this difficult time.

“Hanggang sa huli… Hanggang sa muli, Mahal kita Trev,” she wrote.
