MANILA — Local fishermen recovered a suspected underwater drone while fishing off the coast of Bolinao, Pangasinan, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confirmed on Friday.

According to a statement from West Philippine Sea Spokesperson Jay Tarriela, the fishermen found the floating orange object on August 6, 2025, approximately 149 nautical miles northwest of Bolinao.

The object, believed to be an underwater drone, measures about 160 centimeters in length, 20 inches in width, and weighs around 100 kilograms.

Upon returning to port, the fishermen reported the incident to the Coast Guard Substation in Infanta, Pangasinan and submitted a notarized affidavit describing their discovery.

The recovered object has since been turned over to authorities for further investigation and analysis.
