MANILA — Cash remittances to the Philippines grew in June 2025, with land-based overseas Filipinos (OFs) posting a faster increase than their sea-based counterparts, according to the latest data.

Cash remittances rose by 3.7 percent to US$2.99 billion in June 2025 from US$2.88 billion in the same month last year. Land-based OFs accounted for US$2.43 billion, up 3.7 percent year-on-year, while sea-based OFs sent US$555 million, up 3.5 percent.

For January to June 2025, cash remittances climbed 3.1 percent to US$16.75 billion from US$16.25 billion in the same period in 2024. The United States remained the top source of remittances, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia.

The growth in cash remittances also pushed up personal remittances, which include cash sent through banks, informal channels, and remittances in kind. Personal remittances rose 3.7 percent to US$3.33 billion in June 2025 from US$3.21 billion a year earlier.

Cumulative personal remittances for the first half of 2025 reached US$18.67 billion, up 3.1 percent from US$18.10 billion in the same period last year.
