MANILA — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued a fisherman who went missing in the waters off Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales, after being separated from his companions during rough seas brought by Tropical Depression Isang.

The fisherman, identified as 53-year-old Roberto Albior of Calapandayan, Subic, Zambales, was reported missing on August 22 after strong winds and large waves hit their fishing boat, FFB Saider, while sailing southeast of Bajo de Masinloc.

Albior was separated from his 12 companions, who were later assisted back to Subic by Coast Guard Station Zambales and BRP Cape San Agustin (MRRV-4408). The vessel then continued search and rescue operations in the area.

On August 25, fishing banca FFB Chief Iver reported via radio that Albior had been found. BRP Cape San Agustinimmediately responded and recovered the fisherman. The Coast Guard provided him with medical assistance and food while transporting him back to Subic.

The PCG also expressed gratitude to Jessie Aquilles for his assistance in reporting Albior’s location.
