MANILA—Authorities seized some P75 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two individuals during a controlled delivery operation in Pampanga, the National Bureau of Investigation reported.

The Clark Inter-Agency Task Force Against Illegal Drugs (CRK-IATFAID)—composed of the PDEA, BOC, PNP, and NBI-PAMDO and supervised by NBI Director Judge Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.)—arrested Dexter Desquitado and his driver, Macario Galdones Biag, for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation stemmed from an interdiction on August 28 at a courier warehouse inside Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, where authorities intercepted 11.4 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride concealed inside a package consigned to a certain “Guintorommel” of San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal. The seized drugs had an estimated value of ₱75,072,000.

Investigators learned that a certain “Dexter” communicated on behalf of the consignee and was set to claim the package on August 30.

At around 5:27 p.m., Desquitado and Biag arrived in a white Nissan van and claimed the package. Both were arrested while about to load it into their vehicle.

The suspects are now under the custody of the PDEA for documentation and filing of charges.
